Personality
▬▬▬▬▬▬ Cleithro' is short for cleithrophobia, or the fear of being trapped. In actual fact, Fear of Being Trapped is this dragons full name, and the most accurate summation of his entire being. Because he is not a dragon. He is, in fact, a Greater Horror, and one that has made quite the pleasant home for himself in Aperta Medical. After all, some of the facility's inventions used in diagnosis involve enclosing the patient, like CAT scanners and MRI machines. By wandering past, or sometimes into, those rooms, he can easily feed off the fears of the patients currently undergoing such examination. Unlike his mate, Iatrophobia, Cleithro has a large enough domain that he is fully sapient, although he only truly feeds off his domain through a smaller victim pool within Aperta. He is also not actually a dragon but a large, multi-tentacled eel-like monstrosity that has shaped itself into a vaguely Mirror-like form; all of this adds up to a rather lonely man indeed. Even Iatro, with its vague idea of existence, is not enough to stave off the isolation and Cleithro himself is both the embodiment of cleithrophobia and cleithrophobic himself. He rarely returns to the closed in nest he calls home within Aperta's basement. This loneliness due to being a monstrosity has led to him forming a sort of kinship with the equally hidden Emperor also contained in the basement, particularly the Taokang part. He finds Chuang irritating and Nuwa standoffish. |

History
▬▬▬▬▬▬ Cleithrophobia was the Name taken by a young force within the realm of dreams and nightmares who felt a draw towards those bound or enclosed. For a time, he dwelt and hunted within that realm with a similar being, Claustrophobia, until one fateful day when both were successfully summoned by a non-too-bright mage. The mage failed to maintain control of the horrors he had brought forth, and was quickly devoured and possessed by Cleithro, who soon found himself overwhelmed with a new-found awareness. That joy of new horizons soon turned to sorrow, as his companion was unable to maintain form and dissipated into the magic of Sornieth. The next time Cleithro would encounter a horror of the domain of claustrophobia, it would be an entirely new being, one with no idea who he was. He hunted within the waking world, finding victims wherever he went, before stumbling across a complex in the Shifting Expanse. He sensed a great many people full of fear frequented this place, and settled in the basement, blocking off disused corridors to prevent discovery. But he couldn't remain unseen for long. After one too many close calls, he donned a black cloak to further hide his true nature, and took up a job in administration, focusing on scheduling the doctors and rooms...with the added benefit that he knew exactly when and where he would best be able to feed. But he was still alone, unable to tolerate the rest of the Emperor long enough to truly maintain a friendship with Taokang. So he turned to summoning magics himself, bringing forth another horror and granting enough of his power to prevent the visitor from dissipating. It was a failure. Despite his best efforts, despite his constant experience sharing and frequent creation of baby eels with her, Iatro was not sapient. And she never would be, as her domain was too small. She had only answered the summons due to the nexus of he ideal victims within a hospital, but even that could not give her a true mind, could not give Cleithro a true companion again. But the basement has a new resident. A Coatl. A Coatl in love with fear itself. A Coatl who knows damn well exactly what Cleithro is... |
