Biography

Kurama is a cynical and shrewd individual, along with a somewhat twisted sense of humour. He uses "washi" (ワシ) when referring to himself, which is generally used by older men. He has the ability to change his appearance to a giant nine tailed fox when releasing his whole energy, just like Matatabi. Kurama expresses great pride in his power, believing heself to be the strongest of the dragons due to its belief that their strength is determined by their number of tails, which earned Kurama nothing but disapproval from its brethren, especially Shukaku. (A dragon of the next nest) Conversely, Kurama openly acknowledged the fact that he alone doesn't stand a chance against the Shade, and from its past experience with him, knew full well he is not an opponent to be underestimated, even though he was seemingly pushed into a corner at the time. However, he does easily get annoyed when other dragons want him to give him his power, claiming they need no other power than their own. It is also shown that Kurama deeply cares about Aoi, viewing him with great respect and even shed tears after he saw, that Aois long lost friend Kairi came back from the Arcanist herself.
Long years of receiving negative treatment caused Kurama to develop intense hostility and distrust against others, even going as far as proclaiming heself to be the living embodiment of hatred. Ever since its sitting in a lair with other dragons, Kurama plotted to use the young dragons dependence on its power to gain control over them, before it was bested in combat and stripped of most of its power. However, Kurama's attitude towards others soon began to change during the fight with them, when the young dragons told the fox that they hope to resolve its hatred someday. Despite Kurama reproaching them for making such a claim, the fox nevertheless had developed a level of respect for the young dragons and their determination. he even noted that they were different from the dragons he had previously encountered, eventually allowing to to utilise the Nine-Tails Pwer Mode without consequence, when they came to ask him for his power. Later, as the young dragons told Aoi of their desire to save the tailed beasts and become friends with Kurama, the fox — having witnessed all of the challenges and endeavours they had in their life — silently told the young dragons that if they truly intended to help them, they would have to prove it through their actions. When the young dragons successfully freed some creatues from the Shade's control, Kurama finally became convinced of their word and offered to meld his power with them as a coalition, to which the young ones then accepted and happily acknowledged the fox as their team-mate and a member of the clan.
Within that short space of time, theiy had begun to express trust in one another, even to the point where the young dragons would allow Kurama to take control of their bodys without worry, and switch back without hesitation. Kurama later admitted that he had the utmost faith in them being able to defeat the Shade with the deities help and to carry on the legacy, which also means that he no longer holds a grudge against other older dragons. Kurama is also shown to be more caring about his comrades now as he put himselfs in harm's way to save them and even expressed concern for the young dragons managing so many power cloaks at once. Kurama has also shown a more comical side of himself when he argued with the young dragons about each other's stubbornness, and later when he nervously lashed out at the joyful dragons after the tailed beasts were freed from the Shade while flipping him off. Ultimately, Kurama formed a strong bond with the young dragons; even after hiss Yang half was freed from its seal, the fox accepted Aois request for him to return within the lair without argument, showing he had grown to like the other dragons companionship.
