Biography

Snakeroot is essentially a gentle giant to some of his Clan members, kind of like a younger version of Chrysalis. He enjoys both fishing and gardening, and he cannot seem to decide between the two tasks; it's either feeding his Clan or tending to the things he cares about. Snakeroot is relatively laid-back, but he is somewhat sensitive and can suddenly start crying over something minor. He is also an expert of concealing his emotions, so he can be overly emotional at times. Being a Nature dragon, he is somewhat scorned by his Plague Clanmates, and he returns the same feelings, as he considers Plague dragons to be dirty and unhygienic. Thus, it is somewhat ironic that Snakeroot settled in a Plague Clan; is something in the Scarred Wasteland keeping him there, despite his aversion to Plague and Fire dragons? The Clan may never know.

Full Name: Snakeroot

Rank: Gatherer (specifically a fisher)

Personality: Snakeroot is a very gentle dragon with a green thumb (not literally in this case). He enjoys tending the few plants that pop up in his Clan's territory and is determined to make sure that Plaguebringer's diseases do not touch them. Snakeroot mainly uses his claws to catch fish for his Clan and uses the leftovers to fertilize the plants he nurtures. His laid-back attitude does conceal a sensitive heart, however, and it is common for him to suddenly burst into tears over trivial things. He can be emotional at times, but he usually tries his best to stay calm when provoked or upset. The Wildclaw is somewhat naive and gullible, so he is a favored target of younger dragons that wish to play pranks on him. Despite this status, he has a soft spot for hatchlings, and he takes care of them when he is not busy caring for his plants.

Orientation: Asexual/Homoromantic

Relationship Status: Single. Used to have a crush on Wolfsbane but has moved on from it.

Kin: Claw (father), Raven (mother)

Familiar: Balthazar the Barkback Boar. Snakeroot essentially sees Balthazar as a living shrub, so he thus treats him like a plant, feeding him water and fertilizer and exposing him to sunlight every so often. Balthazar's leaves are usually trimmed into elaborate patterns by Snakeroot's claws; this habit does not seem to cause the Barkback Boar any pain. It is unknown how Balthazar feels about this, but he is frequently seen by Snakeroot's side, which could suggest that the two share a harmonious relationship.

Reputation: Being a Nature dragon, Snakeroot is scorned by his Plague Clanmates, and he effectively returns the same feelings due to his belief that Plague dragons are dirty and unhygienic. He is a favored target of hatchlings looking to prank an older dragon, yet Snakeroot adores hatchlings and takes care of them when he is not hunting for fish. He is friends with Wolfsbane and Tullidora and is almost like an uncle to Machiavelli and Napoleon, helping them master their ranks as scholar and soldier (respectively).

Likes: meat and seafood, feathers, warm colors, quiet, nature // Dislikes: violence, Plague and Fire dragons, darkness, monotony, being alone or neglected

Backstory: Snakeroot lived an idyllic life in the Viridian Labrynith as a hatchling, and he frequently tended the plants that lived there, fascinated with how a small, insignificant seed grew into a beautiful flower or tree. When he came of age, he stayed in his Clan and became a fisher, even though his gardening skills were admittedly much better than his fishing skills. One day, his Clan decided to switch flights, and Snakeroot soon found himself in the Scarred Wasteland instead of the Viridian Labrynith. Offended by his Clan's apparent betrayal of the Gladekeeper, Snakeroot left his birth-Clan and decided to go back to the Viridian Labrynith. However, as he was trying to exit the Scarred Wasteland, he got lost in the Abiding Boneyard and wandered around aimlessly for almost a month. When it seemed like he was about to lose hope, a Snapper Dragon found him and quickly took him back to her Clan. He was nurtured back to health by the Snapper, and the two got to know each other along the way. Learning that the Snapper's name was Tullidora, Snakeroot started to ignore the fact that his new Clan was associated with the Plaguebringer and decided to join so he could be with his new friend. He watched his friend grow close to a Ridgeback named Wolfsbane, and while Snakeroot initially had a small crush on the soldier, he moved on and was overjoyed when Tullidora became mates with Wolfsbane. While Wolfsbane never returned Snakeroot's temporary affections, the Ridgeback and the Wildclaw did become friends, and Wolfsbane decided to make Snakeroot the unofficial mentor of Wolfsbane's sons, Machiavelli and Napoleon. Even though they have now come of age, Snakeroot still acts as some sort of uncle to Wolfsbane's sons, teaching them to become masters in their respective ranks and giving them support when they need it.
