Dreameater 		Altair spent his entire childhood in cave grottos of the Wispwillow Grove subregion diving and exploring dangerous underwater passages. Thanks to the gills and fins inherited from his guardian mother, he didn't need to worry about getting trapped in a collapsed tunnel and dying from oxygen starvation. Darkness didn't bother him either: due to some genetic anomaly the bulbs at the tips of his antennae glowed in the dark brightly enough to illuminate the tight spaces he tended to squeese himself into.

Sometimes he used to find trinkets of varying value (although they were all treasures to him), sometimes he stumbled onto skeletons. Most of them belonged to dragons who dove there before him, some - to the creatures inhabiting the underwater labyrinths. He felt no shame taking the things belonging to the drowned ones too.

Later in life, he made diving his career, selling the items he found on his own and charging money for searching for specific things. Archibald was one of his regular clients, and the jobs he comissioned were always more dangerous and illegal than the others. During many of these enterprises Altair saw things that caused him nightmares so horrific he had to adopt a dreameater as a pet (which he named mr. Snoot).
