Synth came to the White Tower out of shadows, but the shadows never left his side. The ridgeback initially locked himself in his room, refusing to come out, until Rime figured out that what the ridgeback required was a certain level of opulence and deference. Rime coaxed Synth out of his room with a letter slid under his door; an invitation to a masquerade being thrown in honor of the Wards. Synth swept from his room in full regalia and has not sequestered himself since, taking to spending his days lounging around the gardens or the study, always with a glass of wine and the faeries that have taken to following him around, drawn in by his shadowy heart and aptitude for darkness and his taste for the finer things.

When not in the gardens or the study, Synth can be found following Rime around and critiquing everything the coatl does as insufficient or unworthy. Sometimes Rime becomes exasperated and offers for Synth to take over, but the ridgeback just scoffs and states that such work is for those bred for it.
