Mocco's life thus far had proven to be tiresome and mostly a bother. His relationships only further scarred him of what it was that Sorneith had to offer. His previous mates had all abandoned him, either to fulfill their service to the Shadowbinder or because they simply did not enjoy his presence. His Spiral antics of always needing to be busy with something constantly drove loved ones away as it made him appear needy and bored. Life was overall dismal to him in the Driftwood Drag.
Eventually, he met a spiral such as himself named Cantata, who happened to be migrating through the Tangled Wood during her search for the Viridian Labyrinth. She informed him of her adventure, and how rumor was spreading about an alchemist in the jungle who had been playing around with one of Baldwin's archaic recipes, one which was thought to transform dragons into a whole new breed! Intrigued, Mocco asked to join her. It was, after all, such a relief to spend time with another Spiral. The two delved into shenanigans during their entire trip to keep each other busy, and they developed quite the relationship through it.
Little did they realize that the changes to their genetic makeup would slightly alter their personalities, to the point of wanting little to do with each other. Although their instincts drove them apart, their memories served to maintain as much of a friendship as they could possibly bare. They made it a point to spend at least one day during the cycle of the moon together, where they would bicker (not so) lovingly, compete over who was better, and occasionally mate.
It was a strange way to love, but they somehow made it work.

Notes
- Mocco believes his Shadowbinder idol brings him good luck in all that he does.
- He hides a massive hoard of Living Stones in his den because the butt shapes make him giggle. Only Mykla is aware of his collection, and she is the sole supplier of these weird plants.
- Gloop delivers little love messages to Cantata when the two aren't particularly on good terms.
