She who, for lack of common sense or in excess of bravery, climb the ratlines and tend the ships sails in all weather & situations. Without these potentially suicidal souls, the ship would sit idle as the winds merrily blow by, hopefully taking the stench rising from the bilge with it. So, when you look up from the deck to see silhouetted figures feverishly lashing lines as they cling tenuously to a jib or halyard or some such tackle, wave gratefully to those bonny, mad sods.
