B I O G R A P H Y

______ Raised by a single father, Anju never knew his mother. Instead, his father would tell him stories of his mother's adventures and bravery, how they had met, and how her job prevented her from being with Anju and his brother. He longed to be like her, to make whoever she was and his father proud of him even though he didn't truly have anything to prove. When he reached his late teens, he joined the pool to be chosen for the trials, the trials which would determine the next king or queen of their territory.

______ Despite the encouragement from the masses and being a fan favorite for a charismatic personality and general kindness, he was not chosen to compete in the trials.
Shikashi had chosen Serket instead.
The news hit Anju like a wall of bricks, sending him spiraling into depression after fleeing the capital and returning home. He refused to eat or leave the cave, and when the first month of this passed he lost a lot of weight, turning into mostly bones and skin that held on as best it could to his once bulky frame. His father had tried his best to get him to leave the house and find work, which Anju refused.

______ After 2 more months Riptide came to Anju with an offer: He could work for the Witches at the lake in exchange for their previous chosen dragons place. Basque's chosen dragon refused to compete after the death of a competitor, which put the witches out of a very much needed champion. They offered the job to Anju's father when he visited, immediately rushing home to tell his son. Anju immediately accepted and rushed to leave for the lake where he was trained to watch the lake and gain the skills he needed to take control of the trials. Now he eagerly waits for the trials to resume, patiently waiting for his time to shine and prove himself to his mysterious mother.

B I O G R A P H Y

______ As one of the more violent competitors in the King's Chanmpionship he knows he made enemies throughout his trials. Therefore, after being crowned he elected to banish and send off almost all of the previous challengers. After the death of the previous king, Anju has become immensely paranoid and over-potective of his position and wellbeing. Because of these, he only keeps two advisors, a messenger, and the head King's guard around. Even though he previously had 3 children, all have left and renounced their alliance to the clan, leaving him with no heirs.

______ Up until the Royal Ceremony, Anju was a very joyful dragon. Afterwards he become a shell, empty and full of sorrow. Since he began working for the witches he slowly started to regain his former happy personality, albeit still haunted by his former sink. Anju is very protective of his familiar, which also serves as his charge. The snail's name is bravery and it has become a reminder of Anju's purpose as well as a memento from his father.
