Shiny. It's his favorite word: shiny. Every morning Fyyrfly wakes up and polishes his diamond talonclasp pendant until he can see his face in it. His familiar, Kaylee, grooms her own feathers while waiting for him to get ready to face the day. After Fyyrfly dons his browncoat (!!!) the two of them gather their partners - Serenity and Wash - and go fishing for the seafood lovers of the clan. Fyyrfly finds his thresher flat fins quite useful for this daily adventure. Zoe, the cat, travels with them on these jaunts.

At night, Fyyrfly befriends the nocturnal insects that inspired his name. He is fascinated with their flashing lights and hums to himself as he flies along with them and fiercely protects them from the dreaded insect eaters of the lair, who leave his pets alone but sometimes can't resist teasing him. Their secret is that the firefly light tastes absolutely terrible and gives them upset stomachs, but they won't tell that to Fyyrfly. They'd rather trick the icy Shadow dragon, because they are fond of him and do love their tricks.
