Hien-Jin. Prince of the Clan. Mate.

His father, the infamous An-Kor, Ruler of Embers; and his mother, a traveling Shadow half-deity, Hien-Jin was conceived and born encircled with power and magic. His mother, nomadic and detached from the Fire clan, did not stay a moment after she laid her nest of three eggs leaving Ae-Ri to watch over them. Of course, tending to a cluster of her future nieces and nephews was nothing close to an undertaking though it did trigger several painful memories.

Upon hatching, Hien-Jin flocked to his father and immediately decided he would never be far from An-Kor. An-Kor, never having a child of his own, was completely blown away that something so pure, so loving could ever have a preference for him. Despite knowing Ae-Ri was his relative, Hien-Jin did not imprint motherhood upon her but still pays her a healthy dose of affection.

His siblings, were given love in their turn and then given to the Flamecaller, while An-Kor adored each of his children, he could not have them all. And they would be happier with their Goddess than trying to survive with only one functioning parent. As cruel as it may seem, An-Kor cannot father three children while trying to build a name for himself and his followers. Since Hien-Jin was moments old when his siblings were sent away, he does not remember them and therefore, feels no grief in their departure. However, An-Kor ached for some time.

Hien-Jin, with his half Shadow blood, feels a compelling pull towards the Tangled Woods and is often seen straying away from his father's side. An-Kor, knowing very, very little of the world outside of the Ashfall Waste, had no idea that his son would always wander in a select direction; towards the realm of the Shadowflight.

One particular evening, An-Kor did not notice his drifting son was parting from him until he was out of eye-sight. Needless to say, there was an all-out, clan-wide frantic search for his baby boy. He was found by the trio of The Searing Council but they did not Hien-Jin up and deliver him to his father. No, Hyun-Ae found her leader and insisted he come see what state his son was in. Fearing the worst, An-Kor came quicker to his son than he ever thought his legs could carry him.

Where An-Kor expected a disemboweled, mangled, tiny dragon, what he beheld was indeed carnage but not of Hien-Jin. But was in Hien-Jin's wake. Barely a week old, Hien-Jin was attacked by what could only be assumed to be a pack of thieves and annihilated them all. Due to the scattered, torn a part remains, the exact number of them could not be distinguished but there were enough innards and limbs to make an estimation between six and ten.

An-Kor called to his son and he scampered happily to him as if nothing out of the ordinary had taken place. Hien-Jin was taken back to An-Kor's home and cleaned before he was looked over for injuries. There were some but very few and none severe in the least. No one had ever seen anything like the power this small boy held. An-Kor sought the help and wisdom of the Searing Council and was relieved to find that there was nothing malevolent about Hien-Jin's killing abilities which told the rest of them that he did not attack out of malice or a thirst for blood.

Since this, Hien-Jin has been kept closer to his father still, out of the well-placed fear that, like him, Hien-Jin will become a champion to conquer. While the child trains now, it is only with An-Kor who seems to be the only one to combat his son. Though, the Spiral twins itch to get a chance to spar with him, An-Kor refuses and tells them that once he is grown and has a handle on his rapidly increasing strength, they may have a go at him.
