An-Kor // To Begin

Noble // Controlled // Fierce

Leader of the Clan Bulei.

An-Kor is a complex man, having concrete morals yet no need to force them on others. Unlike the ideals of his fellow dragons. Followers of the Flamecaller are usually devout but not radical. Though, luck was never something An-Kor had on his side.

He and his sister were what was referred to as "First Borns" which is a term he will come to loathe and rebuke that means a dragon without lineage, the beginning of a new race. While this was not true and An-Kor and his sister possessed no incredible power, they were however eggs placed on the planet by Flamecaller. Due to the rarity and sacred nature of First Borns, An-Kor was taken with his sister by a mindless clan following the teachings and ways of Flamecaller to a disturbing degree. They thew themselves into lava, set themselves ablaze in order to become closer to their Goddess. This caused them to be disfigured, sick and nightmarish to behold. The sight for two young babies who have no grasp on even what it means to breathe and think, has left both of their minds damaged.

While they were regarded as blessings, the way An-Kor and his sister were treated was nothing to recall on fondly. They were forced to eat only dragon meat and drink boiling water. For any other dragons, this would have easily killed or at least chronically injured them. But An-Kor kept strong and grew strong under this unbearable diet. Quickly, he was regarded as the stronger of the two and given more attention while his sister was left to be ignored.

But being ignored by the Flamecaller disciples is a fate one wishes for. Ae-Ri was put in an enclosure surrounded by lava and fire and far out of sight of her brother. Except around once or twice a month when the fanatics would place An-Kor in Ae-Ri's pen. What should have been a healing experience for them both quickly turned into something far, far worse than anything either of them had experienced. Because they held no lineage beyond one another and the desire for more like them, untouched and untainted by worldly dragon blood, An-Kor and his sister were forced to mate. Long, long before their bodies were ready for such a thing. Refusal was punished by death or worse and all these children had were each other. Additionally, all they had were the teachings of these radical apostles, going against their will was going against the will of the Flamecaller and death would not bring one to her but to eternal suffering.

The nests that were made from their mating never hatched and the nes that did were far too deformed and mutated to survive longer than 24 hours. The pair together made over twenty children, none of them living more than two or three days. The toll this took on An-Kor was immeasurable but the toll it took on his sister was something even as much as he loves her, would never be something he wanted to know.

Finally, once he had reached the right size and age, An-Kor revolted against his captures alongside his sister. Even though she was weak and malnourished, the two were able to wipe them all out. Men, women, children, beasts; none were safe from the First Borns' wrath.

Brother and sister, reunited and freed, they sought refuge in the Emberglow Hearth, the most docile part of their region. Here the pair grew only stronger, honing their skills in combat and hunting until their reputation swept across the Ashfall Waste. Soon, their names were synonymous with a challenge and soon many dragons from all around came to defeat them. Just for the sport of it while these siblings were only trying to survive and wipe clean their minds of their childhood.

While they fought, the siblings grew strong, more quickly than should be common for two simple dragons. But they are not simple, are they? Perhaps what they were told by the clan of their upbringing was correct; their bodies held within them a power unseen by the Ashfall Waste before. What radical followers did not account for, was the time it would take for these abilities to form. But, of course, there was no one to tell them. Every day for An-Kor and Ae-Ri was a confusing cacophony of new experiences and sensations. With each fallen foe came a new spark of intellect, a discovery of potential. By the time they reached physical maturity, word had spread and rumors had formed that these two dragons would soon lead the entirety of the Dragonflight.

Soon, dragons from reaches neither of them had considered, came to them, seeking leadership, refuge or understanding. To each approaching dragon, their requests were met with AnKor. Simply saying;

"Do as you wish. You are now free."
