Skyrunner

The air around her sings with power held tightly in check, as she returns to the Ōhanā territory of the Santulana. She breathes in the warm air and simply watches the dragons move around, unaware of the presence of the two dragons standing on the hill beyond. Some faces are familiar, but many are new and she smiles to see how well her clan has fared in her absence.



Slowly she makes her way down into the valley, with Ahriman following quietly in her wake and watches as one by one they become aware of her presence. Those with the familiar faces are the first to recognize her and the joy is clear on their face as they rush to meet her. Those unfamiliar to her, hold back warily at first but the new soon spreads that this is their queen, this is the one who they had been waiting to return for so long and they too move to greet her with young hatchlings milling around their feet. She smiles at the first hatchling who gathers up the nerve to scramble over to her and lowers herself to the ground so she can shower the small hatchling with affection. The other hatchlings quickly get over their shyness, as they hurry to greet the shining dragon with squeals and laughter.



She pretends not to notice when her warlord separates themselves from the crowd of well wishes to lead Ahriman away. She is angry with her mate and he will have a difficult time of returning to her good graces. For now she will preen and bask in the admiration of her clan, her family in this dimension and all will be well. Apophis has promised her this.
