✘✘✘ As a young dragon Sugilite had through a rough time, as did many at that age. Confused about her place in the world, she became self destructive and reckless. Had she known how her actions would shape her future, she might have been more careful...

One night on a dare, she took a shot to Onyx Cobra venom. Harmless to ingest, the potent toxin was perfect for a Russian Roulette style game played in rougher areas, and the came was the subject of huge bets. However, Sugilite didn't realize she had a tiny cut on her throat. Just an imperceptible nick, but enough to let the venom seep through into her blood.

On contact it began to crystallize. She cried out in pain, excusing herself and fleeing the game. At home, she watched in horror as the gems grew larger by the hour. Occluded with the minerals in her blood, they were a deep purple when they pierced through her flesh, bursting out to glitter wetly in the light.

Her mouth became a glittering cavern, teeth mineralized and cheeks studded with crystal points. The gems burst through her throat in several places, and her vocal cords were severed, leaving her in silence. Over time the growth slowed to a crawl, but not before the gems had pierced through other points in her body, carried everywhere by the toxin. Realizing how lucky she was to survive, Sugilite left that life behind, seeking a new clan and a fresh start...
