Fala

"An aviator and a scorpion?" Yes, yes, Fala knows. She found Hyde in the wasteland just outside their territory, and spent a long time taming him. She's a bit of an eccentric owner and often tries to decorate him with ribbons and bows. So far, she's had no luck.

There are few Fala trusts more than her beloved father, Pikk. Her typical flight companion, she regularly spars with him and shows off her more complex manoeuvres in what he calls her "flirting ritual". Their language is composed largely of pecks, feather fluffs, friendly whacks and shoulder bumps - he is without doubt her closest confidant.


Fala will always have a soft spot for her (admittedly ferocious) mother, Arastina, whom she admires as a guardian. Her naturally-swaying nature and tendency to disregard orders has led to several clashes between the two, but in general they work together to maintain a friendly relationship.


If Fala has any knowledge of Reuel's gaudy attempts to win her heart, she disguises it well from the passing observer. Although she appreciates his fine physique and values his potential as a flight partner, she finds his haughtiness unbearable. His flirts are met with sidelong glances and dextrous dodges - before he knows it, the conversation has turned from the state of her plumage to the precise wind conditions suited to a barrel roll.
Privately, she rather enjoys his attention, although she finds him to be far from desirable.


Having hatched near to the same time as her, Fala has come to look upon the shy Cattail as a sister and close friend - much to the young Guardian's dismay. Personally, Fala finds her a tad boring, and doesn't fully understand her quietness. She occasionally takes the time to throw her wingsister out of her comfort zone in an attempt to build her confidence.


As one of the only dragonesses around her age, Fala greatly appreciates Roxanne's presence in her life as a friend and typical flight companion. Often, the two will take up perch in a high treetop or hidden crevice and gossip over trinkets, trivia and the constant blunder of Reuel. She is well aware of the Spiral's ever-fleeting crushes, and tolerates them with a steady patience much akin to her father's.


Aerfen, with his curious past and quiet, friendly nature, has always intrigued her - whenever she runs into him by chance, the hapless lad will find himself bombarded with questions. These he answers with a touch of amusement; in truth, he is rather fond of her, and finds her constant pecks and quips quite cute.


Although the two rarely speak, Fala trusts Nala and in truth rather admires their steady patience and gentleness. She's come to view them as a third parent of sorts - and, in a way, a counterbalance to Arastina's fierce, protective nature.
As a potential heir to the leadership of the clan, she is well aware that she will be expected one day to deliver eggs. For this reason, she keeps the Coatl close, viewing her as the perfect nursemaid and caterer to dragonets.
