★Shi★ A God you should fear, he guides you from your fallen place to a home filled with fire or love. The actions you make while you breath determine where you end up, think about that because he can only take you not protect your soul. Fear what you shall become. |
★The God of death★
Silent but deadly, a God stands in your way
There’s an ominous groan ringing through the air when Shi wakes up. He looks at the scattered graves around him in confusion. The cemetery sits in chilled silence. Its spirits continue to rest peacefully. The groan echoes through the hollow clearing of the cemetery and morphs into a shriek occasionally. It’s a new traveller, then.
Shi travels quickly to the deceased traveller. The screams of her spirit make her easy to find. The traveller’s body is slumped against a rock. Its wings are torn, and freshly dried blood cakes its wounds. The body’s front side is littered with cuts and a few large wounds. The spirit hovers above the body howls without end. “I’ll kill them. I promised I’d kill them. I’m not dead. I can’t be. They didn’t kill me. They didn’t.”
Shi moves closer to the spirit to make his presence known, and the spirit locks eyes with Shi. Her eyes tremble with dangerous regret. Shi raises his arm to the spirit’s shoulder in a reassuring gesture. His arm almost passes through the spirit’s form, and the spirit no doubt is unable to feel much of Shi’s touch, but the gesture calms down the spirit noticeably. She swallows and slumps her shoulders in acceptance of her death. She stops looking at her body to look at Shi. “Sen. My name was - is - Sen,” the spirit explains. Shi nods.
Shi sits by Sen’s side as hours crawl by. Sen takes the time to take in her death and to come to terms with what it means for her. When she’s ready to relinquish her body, she turns to Shi and nods. Shi understands her unspoken words. The two walk to the still cemetery together and Sen watches as Shi begins to bury her body. “One last thing,” she says. “There’s a dragon to the east of here. Her name’s Song, and she’d want to know that I’m gone. Could you find her and leave some tulips by her lair? Tulips were my favourite.” Shi nods once, and Sen smiles appreciatively.
Sen closes her eyes and lets her spirit’s hazy form disintegrate. She had been wanting to rest for a while now.
Shi’s surroundings are silent once again. He slowly travels to Koda’s garden for a fistful of tulips. Shi is sure to leave the most brightly coloured tulips on Sen’s grave. With the remaining tulips, Shi takes off into the air. He has a dragon to find for Sen.
