"Dragons are like glowsticks, you need to break them before they can shine"
-Xeta The wind lifted her up to soar above the clouds. Here the small Fae felt free from stress and worry up until the day that she met Cobalt. The sun warmed her back and she delighted in the fact that it was a peaceful day in the world... or at least for her it was. Down below a mirror dragon fought viciously with another who dared to step into his territory. Gnashing teeth and scraping claws made their way to the fae’s sensitive ears and alerted her of the struggle. Curiously, she dipped below the cover of low hanging clouds and scouted the area for the trouble. There she saw the continuous battle for land between prideful males. She scoffed at their petty ways but nonetheless floated down to watch and possibly end the fighting so that neither of the strangers were seriously injured. “Whose land is this?” She asked them. Her voice was powerful coming from such a small body but they barely glanced her way before resuming. Xeta’s wings fueled up against her back as she leaped in between the fighters, a courageous act on her part. Seeing no reason to hurt the peacekeeping dragon, they backed away from each other, still snarling at one another but curious as to what she had to say. “Whose land is this?” She repeated herself and the mirror named Cobalt spoke. “I have claimed this territory for many years and-” “You cannot claim something that is not your own. This belongs to the one much more powerful than you,” she stated making his eyes widen at her intelligence and bravery. He sat on his haunches and stared at his former opponent before the other left with an annoyed huff. “You could have gotten killed you puny butterfly,” he growled but meant no real threat to her. She smiled and fluttered up to his face to lay a gentle claw on his muzzle. “I don't believe I would have. You would have saved me, I just know it,” she stated as if it was fact. The optimistic aura she gave out made him cringe in embarrassment for her but still his interest had been piqued by the little Fae who seemed to be his exact opposite. “Now, why don't you come join me and my clan, you can leave this violent nature behind and start anew.” Her words struck a chord with him and although the lust for blood still boiled in his heart, Cobalt was intrigued by the idea of being as content with life as the carefree Fae.
