"My favourite dragon because we share so much loss. I didn't expect for me to like him so much, it's just a game after all, and he's just a personality I created, but I suppose that's not quite as true. Thanks, sQld, for giving him to me."
Chess was a conflicted hatchling, born with more than one defect and confidence-crushing companions in some cases, he definitely had a rough time. He was always sad and gloomy, his very aura cast a heavy air that pervaded the area around him. The eyes that would usually glitter on a Light dragon were ever downcast, that was until he finally gave in and couldn't care anymore. He allowed himself to move on in melancholic, monotone silence, and he was adopted by Carmin and Chisu. He would spend his lonely nights afterward awake, staring at the ceiling for hours on end. A constant case of insomnia. But one day, just one day, out of the blue... he rose up with a firm perseverance, and it only strengthens whenever he sees his warm friends and family, because he knows now he's special to them and can make them happy. He would no longer be left behind, and he would contribute, and bring a new Light to the Clan. That is his will, and now he won't ever let his personal conflicts get in the way.

Persona

Despite his problems, Chess is a very kind and understanding dragon. He deeply cares for his clanmates and will do all he can to help them, though physical tasks are indeed a challenge. Due to his sicknesses, he is often handicapped in most circumstances and has extreme self-esteem issues, which he struggles with. However, he has since dedicated himself to helping others in order to keep his mind off those kinds of things, and has become a reliable and fantastic dragon in the important art of healing. This task has since given him the boost of encouragement he has needed for a long, long time.

Relations
All: Chess is dearly loved and appreciated all throughout the Clan, and has an immaculate reputation with everyone. Not even the ruder dragons have any qualms about him, and problems much less!

Family: Chess misses his family a little, but having Willow around often gets rid of his homesickness.

Beastclans: Chess is naturally soft-hearted, so he has no problems with them. And if he sees a Beastclansman injured, he will not hesitate to help.

Willow: His dearest sister and little sunshine. She came to the Clan after him. He would lay down his life for her, and he sometimes likes to show her what he does for his role in the Clan. He treasures her completely and is as fierce as a Guardian when she is at stake.

Secret: His mate. The two are inseperable from each other, and Secret seems to care deeply about him. Chess appreciates her acceptance of him, and he has since had a little more confidence.
Residence
The Dry Tunnels

A tunnel system lurking within the high rock walls that envelop the Clan. Various kinds of plants decorate its surface, ivy penetrates the dens hidden even deeper. The dens here are typically dry and relatively dangerous, but have since been reinforced with Salem's careful placement of pillars. Chess has selected a smallish den, his own nest is lined with the softest fabrics given to him by his Clanmates for his physical health. Otherwise, his den is more so 'invaded' by ivy and vines than others in The Dry Tunnels, and it is unusually damp. In the crevices of the walls is where he keeps his supplies of herbs and healing objects, and he takes great care of his scarf, for he keeps it above the ground on a flattish rock when he's sleeping.
