He was exhausted.

He didn't know how long he had been wandering through the forgotten paths and ruined clans' grounds. Passing days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months as he walked and flew in search of his small group formed by his mate, the sweetest and purest Guardian he hatched alongside in the deepest parts of Starwood Strands. He could remember the sudden ambush, their small group splitting apart to protect each other. Now, as he lost almost everything he had throughout his journeys, he returned to the Starwood Strands.

His attention turned towards the tiny Fae zipping above his head, their wings marked by the stars. Before he could think how they looked just like the one he once knew, he entered the same place he once hatched. Frozen he could observe dragons and hatchlings alike, all bearing the same marks like the one before. His eyes widened at the sign of lone Guardian coming closer, recognizing her despite her apparel.

"...Estella?" his voice was weak, tears welling up in his eyes. She only opened her arms and he hugged her without any hesitation.

"I always knew you'd return, my dearest," she spoke as softly as he remembered, and he allows himself to finally rest.
