Alastair is one of the primary members of what is known as the Demonic Woods of Vixen's Clan. The Demonic Woods is a portion of their former territory in the Starwood Strand that the demon dragons claimed before Vixen moved the majority of the clan to the Focal Point. After the move, they chose to stay with Vixen's permission. The primary members are the demon dragons who had originally claimed and fought for the territory; any others living there are 'residents' and are only allowed to live there with the demons' permission. It's a dangerous spot and not for the faint of heart, but offers more places to hide and a quieter environment for those who prefer such. The demon dragons, thus, are constantly fighting for rank amongst each other--which dictates how much respect and fear they demand from the residents.

As one of the prominent demons of the Demonic Woods, and as the most fierce and fearless of the demons, Alastair holds the highest ranking. He is one of the longest residing and most well-known demons of Vixen's Clan. If anyone enters the Demonic Woods and attempts to avoid him, they will be in devastating trouble. You must get his okay if you intend to live in the Demonic Woods, or even to pass through it.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Alastair is not a dragon that cares much for relationships. His only loyalty lies with Meg--a Shadow Imperial: his mate. She had been his apprentice in Hell. He is fiercely in love with her and entirely monogamous. There is no other dragon on Sornieth that he is in any way attracted to besides her. She is his everything. They are rarely found apart.

He once discovered that a clan-member was distantly related to him: Wraith. When he realized that they had a blood connection, he felt more positively towards her. Not at all devoted or even that loyal, but he did respect and would protect her if she needed it--but she wouldn't. When she suddenly turned from Wildclaw to the ancient breed of Gaoler, he felt even more positively towards her, as he respected the ancient breeds of his homeland. The change truly changed her in all aspects, and he actually grew to admire her and feel proud of her.
He doesn't have any important attachment to his familiar, but it has been around him for a long time. He met it in the Ashfall Waste, many seasons ago, where he often tortures his victims and strengthens himself. He has never bonded with another familiar and has no interest in doing so. And so the two stay in cohorts.

Long ago, Ruby--another demon dragon--dared to cross and challenge him, over differing opinions. Since then, he and the Shadow Imperial have been definite enemies. She is his main target--especially now that he holds the highest ranking in the woods. Because of this, her mate Samhain, a Shadow Wildclaw, also considers Alastair an enemy. Crowley, the Fire Coatl, is also his enemy because his mate fears and hates him. So of course, he hates him too. The two fight very often. He and Azazel, however, have always been on good terms; which is perhaps due to the fact that the Light Wildclaw and his mate have a father-daughter sort of relationship. But instead of seeing him as a father-in-law, Alastair sees Azazel as a distant brother more than anything.
Alastair is generally neutral with the other dragons that reside in the Demonic Woods. The other demons are the only ones he really gives any care to think or bother about. The rest mean nothing to him. He generally sees them as lesser, since they pose no threat to him or his ranking. So long as they stay out of his way and don't take the sides of his enemies, he doesn't mind them sharing his woods.

PERSONALITY:

Alastair is truly intimidating, there's no denying that. He was Hell's grand torturer and has maintained that skillset and personality on Sornieth. He speaks softly but with a deep, reverberating voice. He is cruel but patient and intensely fearsome. Dragons who pass through these woods fear him and rightly so. He is not a dragon to have as an enemy unless you are as strong as unafraid as he is. Nothing scares him. He is a large and aged Imperial that is very proud and very intelligent. He knows who he is and what he wants. Tread lightly in these woods, and make no mistake to cross him. He is sadistic to the core, but if you show proper respect and fear,
he is less likely to make you his next target.
