Willas was the first-born of a High Lord. From a young age, he was groomed to take over - learning diplomacy and fighting skills.

When he was still fairly young, he accompanied his father's army into battle and, while saving his father's life, his wings were petrified by a terrible spell. No longer able to fly, Willas was cast out of his clan.

He met a traveling magician who was able to spell his wings so that he could fly again, but only for short distances, and with much more difficulty.

He encountered Sansa and Brienne as he traveled further from his home clan. His family had once been allied with hers, so although they had not met before, they decided to travel together. Sansa was wary at first, but quickly warmed up to Willas, they share a love of learning and story telling, so they quickly became close, and solidified their mate bond when they arrived in Clan Samhradh.
