.. Spice has an unfortunate condition- she has never been, and will never be able to, have hatchlings of her own. The reason for this is unknown, but the issue is made even more difficult for her because of her strong desire to protect and guard youth. Hatchlings were, in fact, her 'charge'.

It was because of this she left her home clan and traveled far and wide, seeking a clan that would allow her, who would never be a mother herself, to mother and protect the youth of their clan.

The young Hanska, still just a fledgling warlord, saw and approved. Too many young hatchlings raised themselves in the vast forests of the Viridian Labyrinth. It created wedges between child and clan. A dragoness entirely devoted, heart and soul, to the hatchlings of the clan, could prove very useful.

Spice was permitted to enter the clan under these pretenses, and now serves as the 'mother' to those hatchlings whose parents are not around or are too busy to keep an eye on them constantly. She fosters bonds between children and clan by telling them great stories of their fearless warlord leader and grooming them to become dedicated clan members themselves.
