» about Peros came to the Clan of the White Tower the moment he came of age. He was sent with his mother's love and his dear Clouddancer companion to remind him of home. While he often thought of his mother and wrote her frequently of his discoveries, he was quite enamored with the White Tower and all it stood for, especially the opportunities it seemed to emanate. The moment he crossed into the clan boundaries, he almost swore he could feel the change in his heart, the excited butterflies that threatened to make him seasick. The shining ruin of the ancient white tower that the clan called home was a beacon all of its own. He'd had to quiet his familiar, whom was practically trembling with vicarious excitement--or wait, was that Peros himself? - Settling into the Clan was the farthest thing from Peros' mind. He spent his days following the clan archivist, Crito, around and begging to be told the histories and the why's of the Clan. Crito was unused to the attention and had a habit of stumbling over his words, but Peros picked apart as much as he could. He would later find out that the Matriarch herself had watched his behavior with fond bemusement, as within only a week of residence he found himself accompanying the Matriarch herself to official Light Flight archival councils. The Matriarch had become something of a patroness to his desire to learn and discover, and was grooming him to lead a team in the name of the Clan of the White Tower. Nothing would have made him so pleased. - However, shortly before he was to come into his role, he received a letter from his mother. It would seem that his birth clan had fallen into the broiling trap of inner turmoil, and Peros found that his own opportunities at the White Tower meant very little in the face of his mother's distress. He petitioned the Matriarch to allow him to return home to be a pillar of strength for his mother and clanmates. She agreed. - Peros set sail for home on the first ship out, clutching a letter of safe passage and the White Tower Matriarch's parting words close to his heart; "Take care of your birthclan, Fledgeling, but remember; you will always have a place here." -. |
