Hihiria is seen as a blessing among the inhabitants of Hyraeth Vale. The coatl has feathers and scales infused with gold, and ever since he's arrived he's brought prosperity and fortune in his wake. Though his memories of the past were wiped, he still keeps the bond he has with his familiar, a lux sprite named Ojeÿa. He takes residence in a flowery den by a shimmering pool, where he handles most of his affairs. He is seen mostly handling his many trinkets with delicate care, or affectionately nuzzling his familiar.

Though on the exterior Hihiria looks delicate and passionate, he is rather fox-like and coy. He treasures his keepsakes dearly, and if one is to double cross him, he would have no qualms with binding the traitor to him in eternal servitude. Hihiria has a harsh streak, often lashing out at those that touch his things without permission. However, he is rather forgiving towards children, much to the surprise of his clanmates. The coatl, being considered blessed, is constantly swarmed by over eager dragons ready to see his gift, much to his dismay. However, after a long day of work and tourism, he is softened by Ojeÿa, who brings him many gifts of flowers to decorate himself and his den in. He wears them proudly.

The Counsel of Five includes him as the clan's Trades Advisor, and he takes his spare time away from his clan's duties to grant wishes. He is often regarded as sly by the others, and that his role as one of the leading members is rather fitting. To his dismay, though, his rather fierce companion, Copper, is also on the Counsel. He dislikes the boisterous and loud attitude of the Mirror, but she bounds on his heels and considers themselves as "friends." Hihiria admits that without her, many of his trades would go unnoticed, but he also admits that it's impossible to not notice someone who is constantly screeching. However, he occassionally allows her into his den to play with Ojeÿa and admire his trinkets, so it is possible that they might be more than just "business partners."

The wind blows around them, picking up debris from his home island. His brothers and sisters gather around him, shrieking and hissing, though not all of them are there. In a jar he clasps with shaky golden talons, Hihiria holds the remains of a few of his brothers and sisters, who were just to frail to make it. His parents were young when they met, childish lovers who liked to dance and play, and since had a merry time of giving him many siblings. Above his head the fly now, disdainful looks full of fear and disbelief directed at him.

His mother fluffed out her wings and bristled. "What happened to you, child? How could you stray? You've changed! You're tainted!" she hissed, and his siblings joined in with the hateful curses. "Tainted! Tainted, you are! You straying child! There is no room for you! Away, away with you, you tainted filth!" Hihiria shrunk away, closer to the edge of the hill, and his grip on the jar of remains only tightened. In the dimming sunlight, his scales and feather shone, reflecting the colour of gold. His siblings roared in anger, and Hihiria had no choice but to take off into the air before they pushed him off.

His father circled him, and unlike the rest of his family, the only thing reflecting in his eyes was sadness. They shared a look, and Hihiria's father sighed. "My son," he whispered, "how could this have happened?" Hihiria looked to the side before flying off and away from what used to be his home. His father sighed sadly, watching his child take off, unaware of the glowing spectre that was trailing him under the shadows of his wings. "We told you.. we warned you of the woods, child. We gave you the ivy like the herbalist suggested.. And what did it do? All for a little ball of light.. that we don't even think was really there. Son, how could this.. how could you become so cursed?"
