with his mate in reluctant tow, Niv loudly and quite fancifully made his arrival known to the clan. he has made his reputation as a masterful orator, poet, and storyteller. his words flow like warm honey, like liquid velvet, like--well, those are just a few of the SIMILES he'd use to describe his honestly indescribable eloquence. though boastful, he truly is quite a wordsmith. his writings and his speeches are most compelling. he once amassed an entire beast clan marketplace as his audience, and they couldn't even understand what the dragon was saying! but a true performer knows the power of voice and gesture to bolster the work itself.

and niv has always been a performer first and foremost.

so, the move to the lightweaver's realm made perfect sense. ancient civilizations holding ancient inspiration; warm air to age the parchment just so; and throngs of people to enjoy his art. oh, and eliora's dancing and art--his wife is quite a show-stealer as well. and there really is no greater inspiration for niv than his beloved mate, whose beauty and grace remains unsurpassed by anything he could ever create.

it's a good thing, too, that his wife is so much craftier and practical than he. he prefers to hand out and present his work at absolutely no cost, preferring instead to simply douse the land in the beauty of his carefully crafted stories. he also prefers to lay about all day, languidly putting ink to paper, watching the day roll by with rapt fascination.

any dragon who chances by him while he's writing or preparing may hear him talk to himself, something he does almost constantly. "how curious!" "ah, marvelous!" "quite stunning!" what he says sounds like a mixture of compliments and surprise at his own genius.
