Carwyn

Carwyn was old when she hatched from her egg. Her egg was laid in the hazardous and treacherous lands of the Molten Scar and shortly abandoned when her parents fled one of the many earth-shattering quakes that brought up boiling lava from below. The egg was lost to one of the giant cracks in the land, her parents could not find it when they returned, the gap had closed up - leaving Carywn's egg buried underneath the rock.

It was left, frozen in time, for many years. Eventually it was unearthed by tunneling earth dragons seeking the rich minerals below. Shockingly, when they brought the almost fossilized egg to the surface it began to hatch, and a withered but defiantly alive hatchling wriggled out.

Her miraculous birth became a great campfire story for the travelling diggers that took her in, they would often embellish the story with giant deadly worms and monstrous cave beasts. Carwyn would listen to the stories in awe and become excited at the mere mention of a battle. The group that had adopted her were traders who journeyed around Sorienth in a train of caravans looking for the next fresh opportunity to support their livelihood.

Though she was young, Carwyn was incredibly wise for her age. She grew quickly and soon towered above her adoptive family. She was tasked at protecting the caravans from bandits and grew to love combat and everything about it. Though never bloodthirsty, Carwyn loved pitting her strength against others and training hard every day to become better.

On one particular excursion the traders went to a huge city with towering walls and a stone castle. Carywn was enraptured with the knights that practiced outside the grounds. Though she loved her family, she had found her true purpose. After long goodbyes and promises of never forgetting - she joined the military.

Carwyn learnt fast and soon rose through the ranks. She participated in many famous battles and won her share of prizes and medals. The work was honorable and tough. Years passed and Carwyn became an expert at battling, and decided to become a teacher. These days she can be found roaming the landscape looking for small clans in need of aid where she'll stay to protect them and train up some of their own so they can be strong and able.
