MATED TO TANGAROA
You would think a nature-loving dragon would have bonded with the brother, Tanemahuta, wouldn't you? Well they say opposites attract, and Flidais finds her mate's love of the water refreshing. After all, she was hatched in a land of fire, and migrated to find pastures new (and cooler). She still can't quite overcome her natural mistrust of water though; while she finds Tangaroa's deep sea exploits excitingly daring, she herself prefers the verdant tangles and sunny glades of the inland woods. She still retains a deep affinity for the fire element of her birth, however, manifested in her fiery, excitable nature and passion for adventure.
Flidais was one of the Tuatha Dé Danann in Irish mythology. She is believed to have been a goddess of animals, woodlands and fertility, rode in a chariot drawn by deer and had a magical cow of plenty.
