Kix

Kix has a number of defining traits, but his bravery is one of his most well known strengths. He will face down any threat, push through any fear to get the job done and to protect those close to him. Even though like most Tundras he was a calm dragon, in a fight he became a dangerous enemy, hurling powerful bolts of magic. Yet most that meet him would say that he was a kind dragon, a natural worrier that cares deeply for those around him. This is because to get him to fight his friends and family would have to be threatened, and then he will fight with a ferocity that no one expects. Outside of a fight he is much like he appears, a kind being that seeks to care for others and to heal. He is surprisingly clever, much more so than expected of a Tundra, and uses his intelligence for the benefit of those around him. This has much to do with the fact that while his past before arriving in the clan is hidden in a murky mental fog, he actually has an excellent memory and so doesn't suffer from the forgetfulness that makes other Tundras seem unintelligent. The trade off for this is that he has an extremely poor olfactory sense, not able to smell anything but the strongest of odours and taste the most powerful of flavours. Thus he loves to eat food that might be too pungent for others, which can make dinner time unpleasant. He isn't much of a leader, much rather letting others make the important decisions that will affect many, unless it has to do with one's health. When it comes to the health of the clan, he outranks everyone. That doesn't mean he will go along with ideas that put others in needless danger, and will challenge them even if he cannot think of another alternative. For he always looks out for others rather than himself, and would willingly suffer any punishment if it means that others are not needlessly harmed. Unlike some in the clan that think lucky numbers are needless superstitions, he believes in them and finds the numbers six and eleven to bring him good luck, the ultimate combination for him being 6116.

Born on the edge of Dragonhome, at hatching he looked just like his Snapper brothers, though Jesse had a dark glimmering belly and streaked rather than speckled wings. In other words, there was nothing unusual about him. Yet a few hours after emerging from his egg he started to sprout fur from between his thick scales, and then suddenly glowed brightly. When they were able to see him again, he had transformed. His black smoky markings had solidified into lines, the grey speckles on his wings had coalesced into lightning-like stripes and the solid blue of his body was now broken up by patches of white. However the most important change was that he was no longer a Snapper, rather a averaged-sized Tundra chick. His parents, a Snapper and an Imperial, had no idea how this occurred, but after taking him to a number of healers it was concluded that the cause of the transformation was irrelevant, because he was a perfectly healthy Tundra. He grew up normally, happy and loved, and when he reached maturity he set off to see the world alone. It was this point in his life that he lost most of his memories, the cause unknown. He could remember his family and their names, but couldn't attach them to faces, and when he found himself on the edge of the Sea of a Thousand Currents he had no idea how he got there. He continued on and had many travel companions, like another Tundra called Tally, all the while learning how to heal. At this time he started to have strange dreams of another life, where he was not a dragon but rather something like a two-legged Serith, a life of fighting and being surrounded by many brothers. He never told anyone about these strange dreams until he'd met Akaan, and usually barely remembers them. He was quite proficient at using his magic to save lives and fix injuries, but could never fix himself. Eventually he found himself on the shores of Brek's clan, again unsure of how he got there and his past fuzzy, half-forgotten memories. The only thing he knew was that Tally had told him about this clan. He was accepted in the clan initially just to rest, but eventually he became such a fixture he decided not to leave. The clan was a place he felt could settle down, the island large enough so that the natural Earth's dragon nervousness around water was not triggered. Even though he lives here permanently, he still travels, going out to gain knowledge and to help others. He never goes out alone, though, fearing that he will lose his memories once more and so not be able to find the family he's been adopted into. Within the clan he works to help heal others in ways Ozaki and Angerona cannot, while also trying to reconnect with his memories.

Within the clan he is close to many dragons, but his dearest friends are Ozaki, Angerona and Akaan. He works in tandem with Ozaki, healing injuries with magic when either there is not enough time to use physical means or where the non-magical forms of medicine will not work. Both agree that letting an injury complete healing without the use of magic is better for both the healing and the dragon, and so is often only augmenting the Mirror's techniques and fixes. Angerona is a friend of his also because of their shared healing ability, though hers is more powerful than his when it comes to raw potential. He is a mentor of sorts, and while they don't work together often they do compare notes and learn from each other. His friendship with Akaan is a little more strange, for it is based on visions and dreams they both experience. The Fae first started to interact with him because of his friendship with Angerona, but eventually let slip that Kix reminded him of someone he'd seen in his visions, someone who he'd never seen die. Kix told him about what he remembered of his dreams, and eventually they figured out that some of Akaan's visions of the past were the same as Kix's dreams, just from a different point of view, and that Akaan had vision of events that Kix had never dreamed about but somehow knew had occurred. This shared strangeness and set of experiences formed a bond between them, and now it could be said that Kix is the closest dragon to him apart from Angerona and Violetah. While in his travels he never bonded with another a creature that could be called a familiar, in the clan he formed that connection with a Parda that called herself Palepad, though like with any non-sentient familiar he only found her name after they had fully bonded. His parents are Slate and Zaman, and his brothers were Hardcase and Jesse.
