Niveus

The first thing that comes to mind upon seeing Niveus is his sheer bulk. The huge Imperial is long and muscular and his majestic head peers ponderously around, searching for someone to speak to. The second thing that usually comes to mind is “Why is he sitting on a pile of glasses?”

Niveus has awful eyesight. And I mean awful. He can see approximately three feet from his head, and given that he’s thirty feet long, that usually means he cannot see his own paws, let alone his tail. He’s also, despite his impressive leadership skills, a little dim sometimes, and is yet to realise that the way to fix his eyesight is to get better glasses, not more glasses. So he hoards glasses, wears as many pairs as he can, and spends his days sitting on a precarious pile of metal and glass. He also gets very upset if any of his pairs break, and given his size and weight, that happens often. Therefore, there’s a fair bit of horrified bellowing in the lair at any given time, as a thirty-foot dragon mourns the loss of a tiny pair of spectacles.

He also wears a Fez, although to date Niveus has not noticed that Ruffle placed the Fez upon his majestic countenance, and he’s unlikely to notice any time soon.

Aside from his eyesight problems, Niveus is actually a rather charming and charismatic dragon. Despite the fact that he’s a little old, he’s the unifying force behind Clan Dan, and without him and Pluffie it’s unlikely that anyone would get anything done. Niveus was really the one who turned the clan from a couple of Faes and a couple of Imps into a real, proper group of dragons. (But even now, they’re still a bunch of ********.)
