Sincee clipse has joined the clan she has barely spoken to anyone. The reason for that is not that she dislikes the people of the clan, or that she mgiht be mute, but because she chose not to speak. That was something Veiled actually told the clan after speculation started to peak. While Eclipse never actually told anyone, just replying with a short 'no' when asekd if she was mute, she told Veiled her story. He did never tell it, but he told them that she ahd a clan before, it was not anymore and that she decided to shroud herself mostly in silence. He never told more, telling everyone Eclipse had to tell the full story herself.
While Eclipse never speak more then one word at a time most dragons feel the need to talk to her about their problems. At first it was just the fact that she was listening, no questions asked. But the more they talked to her the more they got the feeling that she was more then just listening silently. While she usually never answered until directly asked a question she could answer with yes or no dragons talking to her started to feel like she actually answered them more and more. At first it was just the vague feeling of things that should be done, opinions not distinctly their own but also not distinctly foreign, but the more one 'talks' to Eclipse the better the understanding with her gets, to a point where people have full conversations with her, without her uttering even one word.
That and her compassionate nature combined make her the go-to mediator of the clan. She is the one dragons go to when they have a argument and usually the decisions and ideas are just and considerate. And even if her ideas are ignored she is understanding and kind about it.
Some feel her way of communication and her perpetual silence are creepy, if not a way of hiding something or beeing harmful. A few lone voice say she tries to control the clan with her ways, but most don't agree with that.
