Norse Goddess associated with defensive refusal. She guards the doors of the hall and shuts them against those who are not to enter.

She waits, watchful, warning; a silhouette against gleaming doors. Her willows rustle all the way up the winding steps, whispers of wings and fur and antenna. One comes, one comes, one comes.

Claws scrape on stone, a herald to their owner's approach; scales flash and horns gleam, lithe figure undulating closer. She stands alone, much smaller against imperial height, greys and whites fading her into shadows cast by framing walls – save the speedline bright enough to draw the eye and dull enough to trick the mind.

He doesn't notice her until he tops the height of the steps, too busy watching the glowing eyes in the glowing mist watching him in turn. He stops short, towering, disconcerted; he draws himself up, and she speaks before him.

"No."

He rears; his wings rustle and so do the willows, chanting:

No no no no no no no no–

"I–" he begins, and she speaks again, voice piping like his, body rearing like his.

"No."

No no no no no no no no.

"But–!"

Wings flare, his and hers; his shine sunlight and hers rebound it, black on white, undulating, disorienting. Her eyes glow steady, captivating; her wings blend shadows with mist.

Flustered he coils and flustered he slinks down the steps, followed by the chant of mocking denial.

No no no no no no no no~

Slowly she settles, whites becoming greys, lines mimicking the shadows. She watches him retreat, a cowed youngster filled with dreams of grandeur snuffed out by solid rejection.

Those who might enter would come – but first they would face Syn.
