His level of skill and seemingly intuitive knowledge of smithing caught Blazestar's attention when he was barely older than a hatchling and already expertly making armor and weapons. Since then his skill has only improved and he is capable of making complex pieces of metalwork. Once Emberblaze was older Blazestar started putting him in charge of the forges whenever she wasn't around. Some of his clanmates were a bit uncertain how the often energetic young spiral would do in his new position, but their worries were quickly put at ease, as Emberblaze proved to be very respectful and patient with the other smiths. He always made sure to compliment those who had done good work on a piece and offered friendly suggestions and advice when he saw there was room for improvement. Whenever a problem arose he never got mad, even if it could have been prevented. Instead he was always the first to offer help. During the times when he had to scold someone he tried to be gentle about it, especially with the newer smiths.
