Hydra's birth clan was a labor-oriented place. Everyone lived near the Fishspine Reefs where fish and plants thrived. From her younger days, she was shaped to become a beast of power.
Her need for adventure caused her to go into the Leviathan Trench.
During the night, Hydra took off into the sky. She flew over the trench and, with a deep breath, dove right in. She swam and swam for what felt like years.
At last, though, a chest that shined like millions of diamonds appeared entrenched in weeds. Eagerly, she opened it up and was blinded by the shining gold inside. The sudden brightness made creatures crawl from their holes. In jealousy, they buffeted Hydra until she could hardly squirm. Blood seeped into the sea and created a horrid mess of treasure and gore.
Luckily, she was brought to shore by her mother. Hydra winced from her mother as grasped her and pushed against her injuries, but Hydra accepted it as punishment. She secretly wished those creatures had torn off her ears, for now that duty was up to her mother. In a mix of fury and relief, Hydra was dragged back home on the back of her mother and immediately put to rest and care.
Hydra was sent to the Light territory for safety. She joined a clan that was led by a Fae as adventurous as she was, with a Guardian that had as much love in his heart as her mother.
