Wallace received letters from his friend Jan about the clan he now resided in on the island of Prufrock and decided to go live with him. Though he had trained as a warrior like Vis and Ven, other previous residents of his birth clan, when he arrived on the island he offered to do whatever job was needed since he longed to help others. As a result, he became the odd job dragon, doing anything from laundry to washing dishes to extremely odd tasks like watching something for hours on end for one of the scientists or taking part in their experiments – whatever was needed. He delights in variety, so he doesn't mind the mundane nature of most of his piecemeal jobs.

He has an extremely cheerful disposition, almost as bright as his hide, and is the dragon all residents in the clan turn to when the are in need of a smile, a hug, or other reassurance. When the coatl Yvette came to the clan as a hatchling, Wallace was quick to sense a kindred spirit - a sunny soul who enjoyed variety - and took her under his wing. The two of them do a multitude of little things for the clan's dragons - making flower arrangements and leaving them places that will give others joy, sending short notes and cards with kind sayings, and going out of their way to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. They're probably the only two dragons in the clan who remember everyone's birthday.
