B I O G R A P H Y

Visitors to the Southern Icefield never expect the mansion. They envision endless reaches of ice, maybe interrupted by a few burrowing dens. Albion enjoys it very much; when they arrive in front of his palace, he likes watching their awestruck expressions from his balcony, as they try to figure out how rich and unattainable the owner might be.

"You know, you’re kind of creepy when you do that,” Angilian sighs over the wine they’re sharing, colorful silks shifting over white feathers. His plumage is similar to Albion’s own, but Albion doesn’t try to hide the sickly paleness like their Clan leader does.

"Check if there are intruders to punish?”

"Stare without doing anything,” Angilian corrects. “But the statues thing doesn’t help,” he adds, wincing.

There are countless sculptures decorating his halls. Albion enjoys people admiring him, but uninvited company, he isn’t too fond of, although he makes his exceptions.

Angilian is right, though. He is fond of staring.

"What can I say? The world is a dark, cold place.”

There is a crystal ball, waiting in his studio. He doesn’t bring it out in times like this; Angilian doesn’t like it. But he will go watch later; dragons suffer all over Sornieth, and he craves it. He needs to know, needs to watch. He’s not a monster - he’d never inflict harm himself. But sometimes, dragons are meant to suffer.

Of course, he says none of this out loud. He doesn’t want to lose one of his only friends, after all, and it’s already a miracle that Angilian can stand him.

Instead, he picks up the glass of wine, and drinks.

"I simply like being aware of how twisted the world can be.”
