"Once in every show There comes a song like this It starts off soft and low And ends up with a kiss..." Thalia loves to make others laugh more than anything, though singing is a close second. Singing comedic songs and really hamming it up to get the audience rolling is her favorite performance technique, and though the others in her group prefer more serious pieces, they let her unleash her silly side every once in a while. She tried out for the Petal Tones when Cal and Clio held auditions, traveling from the Southern Icefield to do so, and surprised them by performing a comedic skit rather than the vocal piece they had asked for. They almost went with another dragon for her part, but the singing portions of her skit had been superb, and the other dragon they had considered turned down the offer, so they accepted her into the group. The Petal Tones soon gained renown throughout the regions, and their coming was eagerly anticipated by clans in many flights. They even had fans who followed them around from concert to concert. Unfortunately one of the fans proved to be unstable. He was obsessed with Urania and stalked her constantly, though she always refused his overtures and did her best to deter him. Nothing she tried worked, however, and one night before a performance, he attacked her, fatally wounding her before he was captured and subdued. Stunned and appalled by this senseless act, the Petal Tones decided to retreat to a safe haven to recuperate and rekindle their creative muse. Cal and Clio recalled meeting a coatl envoy named Ez who had told them of a coatl colony in the Starfall Isles, several of whose residents had petaled hides like themselves, so for now they are recovering on the island of Prufrock, far away from their former lives. They occasionally give impromptu concerts for the residents. Thalia sings the female lead in most of the group's performance pieces now that Urania is gone. She laments the loss of her former competition and has done what she can to cheer the others in the group even if her heart isn't quite as joyful as it used to be. Original lore by Salathielly |
