HISTORY

Laeios was hatched in a small, yet happy Light clan. She was encouraged to pursue all sorts of talents by her parents while growing up, and under their tutelage she built a promising future for herself. Her knowledge and skills varying through numerous areas enabled her to settle in any clan and be welcomed for what she could offer.

One day, she went to study plants native to Shadow on the border between the two territories. Laeios knew of a dangerous Shadow clan nearby, where the warriors were controlled by the Shade to do horrible, vicious deeds. She made sure to stay out of the woods enough so that she could quickly flee should danger arrive. And yet, when she looked up from the ferns to meet the dark purple eyes of a nocturne peeking out from behind a tree, she did not leave. The stranger did not seem threatening, and so, against her better judgment, Laeios began to visit the area every day in hopes of spotting her again. After a few weeks of sparse glimpses of each other, the stranger approached her and introduced herself as Sofiael.

Over the next few months, Laeios fell in love with Sofiael. Her parents realized that she was not as enthusiastic about leaving to tutor young dragons in some nice clan far away as she used to be and investigated. They were scandalized when they found out that she was sneaking off to visit a Shadow dragon, of a mysterious clan no less, and condemned her studies to areas they approved of. Laeios ran away to meet up with Sofiael and, in her distress, learned that Sofiael was from Vespertine, the very clan she had been warned of. Sofiael informed her that she did not want to live in her clan, because even though things weren't as bad as outsiders made them out to be, there was still something seriously wrong that she didn't want to be involved in should things turn sideways. Laeios did not want to part with her love and thus decided to move to Vespertine to support her girlfriend despite how much neither of them disliked it there.

Personality

Laeios is very kind and loving. She will fret over everybody's well being and make them feel better with her presence. She figuratively and literally lights up the room when she walks in. However, her time in Vespertine drains her because the darkness bears down on her too heavily. Every day is spent on edge while she pretends she sees nothing wrong with the odd behaviors of her clanmates. She sticks closely to Sofiael because of her familiarity, love, and protection in such a dismal place.

She is often the only one who remembers to keep the few lanterns lit throughout the lair. Her den is the brightest in the entire clan as she frantically fills it with as many candles and lanterns as safely possible. Yet this often isn't enough, and when Sofiael must do her own thing, Laeios goes off to visit Ignacia in her forge. The heat of the flames reminds her of the sun on her scales and being surrounded by light comforts her. Ignacia feels the same way as her about the dark, which gives her emotional support as well.
