Drawn to magic from an early age, Kirukan's natural talent and hard work made him highly powerful. But the innate power of Shadow dragons came to feel limiting - Kirukan wanted to learn more, to push the boundaries of what dragons could do with magic. He soon left home to travel around the Arcane lands, experimenting with the wild and unpredictable energies there and learning how to harness them. Eventually, he reached a point where his experimentations couldn't take him any further - he needed to look at records of dragons who'd come before him - and possibly the records of those who'd lived in the Second Age. For that kind of research, he needed to move again, to the Lightweaver's domain. He also wanted to find a clan to live with - his study had been fulfilling, but he was also becoming lonely. Lortua's peaceful clan, full of scholars, seemed the perfect place for Kirukan to settle down - but being a Shadow dragon experimenting with potentially dangerous magic, he immediately drew her suspicion and dislike. It was his growing bond with the shy and withdrawn Belesa that eventually brought the others around, however - realising that the gentle, nervous Imperial was falling in love with Kirukan and seeing how good the relationship was for her, they decided he should stay. Dedicated to his magic and to his mate, Kirukan is clever, loving and hard working. His magical experimentation has had some interesting impacts on the clan, most notably bringing two dragon-shaped trees to life - and then, when they caught fire, accidentally freezing the flames so they're constantly burning without being consumed. He's also followed everywhere by a spellbook he accidentally brought to life when it was gifted to him by a friend in an allied Nature clan. |
