Calcite is faszinated by everything technical. He just loves every kind of machine and mechanism with a great passion. That is the reason why she loves to try and build and tinker with everything he can think of.
Though for one his ideas are usually incredibly weird and prone to not function the way he thought they would. The other problem is his clumsy nature. He usually makes mistakes with nearly everything he touches and does not have the natural affinity to technology he claim he has. He is also prone to knock things over by accident or just reads blueprints the wrong way, causing all kinds of disasters and failures.
While he has caused more explosions then he could ever count he does never give up. That is, if he is even awake. Just like a spiral tends to do he has sudden jumps from hyper-mode to falling asleep. There seems to be no real middle ground just phases of beeing more or less hyper. Most people avoid longer talks with his, just to avoid getting a massive headache.
He causes the most dismay with the anti-social inventor Eric. He always wants to help him and probably causes more failures of his inventions and ideas then he himself ever could. While he seems to suffer from the spirals continued attention he never got the hearth to tell him that he just does not have talent for inventions, and usually lets him play along even if that means blowing something up in the process.
And after all he does always apologize and make up to everyone he causes problems to. He never means anything bad for anyone, always just trying to help out. Also his strong will is something to be admired after all, even if some say it is just ignorance to his incompetence.
