____________________________________________

She started learning from the moment she was born.

She was always an observant child. With wide eyes gazing at everything in the world, she mimicked the actions of those around them, before she fully understood the whats and whys.

When she became aware of these things, and the reason behind them, when she became self aware, she began learning more. And she loved it, to be able to understand the world. The knowledge that there will always be more to discover, more to find, more to learn.

To learn, she could not remain in place. The well of knowledge in her clan must run dry sometimes, and when she could learn nothing more from her elders, she moved. Always, she returned, of course, but only by travelling could she learn more.

She neither enjoyed or disliked the travelling from place to place. It was pleasant, sometimes, and she enjoyed each change in scenery. Other times, she felt homesick. Not that she stayed ‘home’ long enough each time for her to consider it home, anyways.

Sometimes, she wondered, whether she should give it all up, all the travelling, all the knowledge, so that she could settle down. She decided it was folly even to consider it.

So she kept on learning, because she couldn’t afford to stop.
