B I O G R A P H Y
He lived in a content state for the beginning of his life. Eating far much more than his small body could handle, getting scolded by his father for bothering the head guard, and playing around with his “brother”. However, the days of curious happiness were cut short. The hatchling soon became ill, and his brightness soon started to dim. He’d wind staying bedridden in his personal quarters, and soon, the raspy, uncomfortable throat he had changed into a high fever. Concern began filling the royal family, and his father had a guarded look over him. And one day, that guard came to the lord, frantically telling him to gather his mate and come to the room. When they had entered the room, the young Mirror was shivering, hiding his face. But at the sound of the door opening, he raised his head, and his father’s heart dropped. The dragon’s eyes were completely whited out, and the way he called his parents' name with utter confusion, it was not hard to tell that the disease had spread; taking the child’s sight. And somehow, it only managed to get even worse. As Sunshine’s health began to decline, even more, Crimson Shadow began to get even more frantic. He began posting notices all around the close land and sending guards out to find someone who could cure him. It felt like there was a hidden time limit; that if the Mirror did not get help soon, his son would not be able to recover at all. The joy that used to fill the lair was diminishing more and more. But one day, a knock on the door sounded. Crimson Shadow had the guards bring in the unannounced character, and they brought in an elderly female guardian, claiming to be a healer from a distant land, here to tend to his son. The lord felt a caution that he couldn’t help; after all, he was never trusting of strangers. Desperate, however, he assigned the head guard and a few others to come with her to see his son. SThe Guardian watched over the poor, barely conscious hatchling, the guards hanging back and keeping a careful eye. At first, she had merely mumbled; soft, comforting noises, and after a brief pause, she began the proper “ritual”. Carefully placing herbs and candles from her satchel around the child, she began chants and prayers that were in a different language from the natural dragon tongue. A few moments passed before she finally bowed her head to the young one and began packing her things. Despite the Guardian’s reassurance that the child could be saved, Crimson Shadow kept her in the castle for a few hours, to make sure she had not done anything to harm the small hatchling. And soon enough, when the next morning came, while his son’s sight was still troublesome, he was as healthy as ever, and that joy that he once had gradually returned. His family was rejoiced by this, and almost in a spur of the moment, the Lord asked the Guardian if she would like to find a home in his faction as repayment. Yet, she merely smiled with a bow of her head; |

Her final words to him were a recommendation to find a handmaid for the young dragon, and then she disappeared, with no tales or rumors of her ever spreading. She seemed, to Crimson Shadow, the manifestation of a miracle itself; fleeting yet brilliant. The next day after, Sunshine’s eyesight had returned to him, and even more fascinating, a glimmer began to form over the corners of his features. As he grew, his line of sight would also grow sharper; passing almost everyone in their faction. Yet, despite his recovery, his family cooed over him as though he would contract that illness at any time, his father making haste in getting him a handmaiden like the Guardian had advised. Her name was Brightlight, a kind, and virtuous Coatl who could also be quite the energetic and nagging one. Growing up alongside each other, they became close; friends for sure, always looking out for one another. As he grew, the Mirror would still get coddled over by his family(even his brother, who in particular still enjoyed playing dirty with him), but he was never underestimated. Rather, Sunshine’s reputation would always precede him; the raying source of sunlight in the faction, who would look over it with as much intensity as his father does. Lore By, @winterleaves11 |
