Swamp Mage
Reyes was born in the Windswept Plateau, but not too long after he hatched he was separated from his clan, swept away in a terrible storm that blew him to the Sunbeam Ruins. He hunted and scraped by on his own there for many month before he happened upon Shayala on a hunt. She took pity on him in his weak and hungry state, offering to feed him and let him stay with her clan until he was strong enough to travel on his own. Reyes was quick to accept, knowing he would die if he stayed on his own much longer. He stayed with Shayala and her clan for several days while he regained his strength, then the days turned to weeks, which turned to months. For much of his time he filled in the gaps of any dragon that was sick or in need of a day off, substituting in for any duty that needed to be done. Once he made the decision to settle with the clan for good, he was offered a position in the clan council by Mahvir, the council leader at the time. She claimed to see a natural knack for leadership in him. Reyes happily accepted, and served with Mahvir for several years before she decided to step down. He served as the clan's interim leader for a short while before being officially voted as the council and clan leader officially, a duty he takes very seriously. One of the most patient imperials in all of dragon kind, he is calm and collected on the outside but inside Reyes always knew he was a natural born leader, and while he is reluctant to harm anyone who gets in the way of his ambitions, those desires burn in him all the same. Reyes has an uncanny charisma, able to sympathize with and persuade any dragon he meets. Reyes respects but cares very little for the deities of dragon kind, but cares deeply for his clan mates and all the lives that are placed under his care. His confidence is not easy to shake, and he is the leader that led his clan from the Hewn City to the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. Since becoming clan leader Reyes finds himself with little free time, but what little time he does carve out for himself he spends researching for his latest personal projects or training. He is the most overall talented fighter in the clan, able to fight well with tooth and claw and also commanding powerful magic when needed. He greatly respects Amythistle's prowess in battle, and has been training under him to improve. Reyes feels that as the clan's leader he must be able to protect the clan not just with his diplomatic ability but also on a battlefield. It was under Reyes leadership that the clan unfortunately fell to pieces. An attack from the beat clans had left the clan crippled, and many dragons were unhappy with their new situation near the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. Several dragons felt the clan had grown too weak an complacent there, allowing the attack to affect them so deeply, and others complained it was the clans council, which like all democratic process, took time to decide what was right for the clan. After months of growing discontent and hostilities, despite Reyes and his supporters best efforts, a fight broke out within the clan. The battle was gruesome and went on for days, no leaders or alliances just bloody mistrust. After a week of fighting had passed, a mysterious dragon appeared on the horizon. Pariah, one of the newly discovered Bogsneak breed, had gained a mysterious ability to divine the future during her transformation, and had come to the clan in its hour of need to stop the fighting and reunite the dragons under the same banner once again. She said that remaining here would be the death of the clan, and urged them to move to the Scarred Wasteland if they were to survive. Reyes ultimately decided to stay with the clan despite all this, although with the move to the Plaguebringer's territory came the disbanding of the clans council, something that Reyes was silently relived about. He stepped down peacefully and made it clear he had no interest in being the clan's leader. It would seem the clan's civil war had affected him more than he had let on, as he is much quitter since the event. He still cares for his clan mates, and fights to protect them, but he has no more interest or ambition to climb the ranks of leadership. The move back to the ruins came as a surprise to him, but while he found he enjoyed his training in the wasteland more than anticipated he was eager to return to the place he would always consider his true home.
