The Empyreal clan is home of dragons of every species and element. Since these groups have conflicting traits, there's inevitable difficulties with living together. Quill noticed these quarrels and misunderstandings and approached Shula with a solution: let him teach the dragons coping methods so they can live together peacefully.

Some of his projects include teaching Fae how to read the body language of other species, providing exercises for Spirals to burn excess energy, giving Ridgebacks creative games to satisfy their "borrowing" instinct, and linking specific scents with important information to improve Tundra memory. He's always looking for new ideas to help unify the clan and satisfy their needs.

These ambitious plans are not always well-received or successful. Successful campaigns are only a partial victory, since these traits tend to be so strong that they cannot be fully extinguished or altered. At best, he can only moderate the degree of these instincts and behaviors. Some of his proposals have been complete failures: his pitch to teach Mirror dragons better table manners was brushed off.

Quill is understandably unpopular among the Empyreal. Many will avoid him unless they have a specific reason to speak with him. A few dragons have even left the clan in response to his meddling, feeling constricted by his attempts to change their behavior. He understands their resentment, but considers his job a necessary evil to make coexistence possible.
