Her sharp senses make her an ideal tracker. She notices clues most dragons would overlook, such as broken branches, footprints, scents, and dropped items. The scent of blood has an adverse effect on Scarlet, though; it makes her hyperventilate and become aggressive. She needs to be calmed repeatedly if she's following a trail of blood or she may swivel around and instinctively bite someone.

She usually finds lost hatchlings and pinpoints the location of unwelcome intruders. Sometimes she's tasked to do a more passive duty: she sleuths out what happened at a particular spot by analyzing the evidence left behind. This helps the clan confirm what happened on their property.

Scarlet's role usually keeps her away from fights, but she'll gladly help subdue any intruder she finds. If she's given permission to participate, she turns into a whirlwind of red fur, metal plates, and teeth.
