Ship's Crew ~ Quartermaster & Coxswain

Quartermaster: During the Golden Age of Piracy this was the highest ranking pirate on a ship under the captain, usually elected by the crew. The quartermaster was the only officer on a ship who could veto a captain’s decision, but only when the ship was not engaged in battle or on a mission.

Coxswain: A person who usually steers a ship's boat and has charge of its crew.

Geode, so named for the way his coloring and glimmer made him look like a rock with a crystal split in half, joined Clan Diamond Dust specifically to take a position of authority in their ship's crew. He also was in charge of steering the ship and making sure they stayed on course.

Before moving to the Southern Icefields, he lived in a Plague Clan. He didn't know his own parents, as his egg had been found abandoned, but he carved out a life for himself there, finding a wife and nesting with her. However, all his offspring chose to serve the Plaguebringer, and his mate followed them, so he set off on a course to a new life.

Having lived in the Scarred Wasteland, he was used to harsh conditions, so he took to the sea and the icefields without many issues. He was rather unforgiving to the ship's hands, given his own upbringing, and was respected by the crew (although some did fear him).
