The Mother of Night; She Who Holds the Moon

Rhati came to the Hewn City seeking wisdom in the glittering shade where Light is scarce, but all the more precious. She served as an Enlightened to young acolytes of the Light clans, both admired and distrusted. While her heart is with the shadows of her homeland, she recognizes the duality of Shadow and Light and views the Light realm not as her adversary, but as another face of her soul. Whenever she feels the Light is too bright and unbearable, she seeks solace in her Shadow Sprite familiar, Dreyma. Dreyma, she says, watched over her orphaned egg and gave it the magic necessary to hatch, and seems to imbue her with a strong magical power.

She pledged her allegiance to Mirathorn when Mirathorn sought her out in her own studies. Rhati initially disliked Mirathorn, who she found arrogant - and more than that, represented the Arcane, the element that embraces chaos and rejects cold order. Still, she found herself drawn to Mirathorn - in more ways than one - and decided there could be wisdom to be found under her lead and among her clan of feral but loyal followers.

She often wanders alone. Though she does not like to battle, she is a powerful mage, and knows dark magic of which even the rest of the clan does not know the extent. She is frequently leaves with Dreyma at night, and the pair wander to consult with the Gloomwillow Guides. She always returns by the crack of dawn, however, most of the clan expects that one day she will disappear completely.

_{Lover: Toranis has a night-heart, as her. As a Lightning-born dragon, he too has interest in the balance between light and darkness. The two study in the libraries of the Hewn City together, and fly side-by-side at night.}

_{Student: Rhati was skeptical of Edhanyn at first, finding him naive and childish. But eventually she too was drawn to his warm charm. She has taken him as a pupil of sorts, though he doesn't always care for her lessons.}

_{Lover: Rhati was immediately drawn to Skathi, which was unusual for her. She admires Skathi's cool grace and beauty. The two have developed a partnership.}
