She came one sunny day after flying over the Sunbeam Ruins. The contrast between Light and Shadow regions was huge, she was sure she'd continue towards Dragonhome right away, when the wind just would turn to North.

While waiting for better weather conditions, she met a white Guardian, telling her to stop and tell what business did she have in that area. After the Guardian had heard she was an explorer, she had became so excited it was a wonder she could fly straight. When the Guardian took her to meet her clan, she had been wary. Shadow dragons with bloody bandages, bones and skulls as decorations, a harsh clan leader - and yet she was given a place to sleep, food to eat and some very interesting companions.
"We let Stargazer to lead her own Royal Airforce, she'll bother us less when we give her something seemingly important to do", one of the dragons had explained. And the white Guardian seemed so proud of her one-dragon airforce Berwyn could only smile.
Time passed and she found herself befriending dragons from the clan: the gloomy but weirdly humorous dark dragons, the proud knights, the wanderers from other flights - and most of all, Stargazer.
One day the clan alchemist, warlock and scientist Patrium ("But your are from a Light clan, how can you live here?" she had asked, "Well, where else could I study dark magic than here?" had he answered) sat next to her.
"You know, the wind has been blowing from south for a while now", he said and smiled. "That's what you were waiting for, right?"
Berwyn hadn't even remembered she was supposed to go to Dragonhome anymore. "I, uh..."
"But if you aren't in hurry, I think Stargazer might need some help with her airforce thingy. I mean, she has been doing both daytime and nighttime patrolling for a while now, even though we've told her no one is going to attack us flying..."

Now the southern winds carry Berwyn and Stargazer around as they patrol the skies, protecting the clan from surprise attacks from the sky.
