Night-guard. Tracker. Animist.

Shukhi was discovered as an unhatched egg in the wastes of the Plague-lands. It was brought home and, after being given Vesper's approval, was incubated and hatched. The Nocturne slithered wet from her shell with pale scales and wood-dark wings.

It did not take long for the clan to realize there was something inexplicably wrong about the hatchling. However, she was a clever, quick learner with an easy aptitude for wilderness work and a penchant for minding her manners so her strange tendencies go overlooked.

She is a master tracker, able to navigate through the thickest brush or chase prey across the driest rock with ease. At night she flits silent as a bat through the air, keeping a watchful eye on the sleeping clan.
She cannot sleep at night. Her dreams after dusk are drenched with blood and scorched by fire, the wild shrieks of the Gods and the hissing screams of dying dragons reverberating in her skull.

Torment. Oh, how they suffer here, in the end of days. Many of the faces are familiar - dragons that she has called "mother" or "sister" - but distorted with rage and terror. She knows they have been betrayed, but she does not know by whom. She knows that they will all die, but she does not know why.

Every nerve is alight with pain, her tongue shriveling to a husk in her mouth. She cannot scream. Soon her eyes will mercifully wither and she will be spared the sight of it all. However, the screams will continue, over and again, until she jolts awake with a gasp on her tongue.

She keeps a journal of the dreams. They feel important. But no one else can ever see it. She has few friends. It's hard to love when you have to watch them die every night.
