Herald was the young Wildclaw's first self-made purchase. Finch had seen the golden bird in a cruel cage at the auction house and bought him out of sympathy. Through tentative care and coaxing, he gained the bird's trust and it is now his loyal partner and serves the young royal by delivering mail and messages throughout the castle, hence his name; Herald.
