Feu

History:
Feu learned how to defend what was his from a very young age. His tooth and claw grew sharp from fending off hungry dragons from his dinner, and his natural instincts grew even keener. His fighting skills were developing, unbeknownst to him.
He was found along the border of a small clan that was just taking flight. The patrol took him home, squealing over the precious tiny Spiral. The clan leader deemed that there was no harm in preventing the Wind dragon from staying, and so Feu was adopted into the clan.
He met Zon in his first couple days. He was cool-cut but had a fiery grin that lit up Feu's heart. Feu... simply adored Zon.
As they grew, Feu enrolled in guard training. The clan had realized how fantastic his fighting abilities were and the head guard sent him a letter, requesting that he would participate. Ecstatically, he agreed to join and convinced Zon to as well.
During this time, Zon and Feu grew closer than ever. They became proper mates when they were close to becoming real guards, and everyone loved and supported their relationship. Almost all those in the clan had known they were a couple, and were practically watching their every move to see the moment when they would become truly together.
He was introduced almost immediately after Zon had been shown to the new king, and he could practically taste hostility on the air. The meeting went by hurriedly; he didn't want to stay in that unpleasant atmosphere for long.
So Feu waits, never speaking but always acting. Though his silence seems to insinuate that he is unknown, his kind demeanor has attracted the eyes of many. He guards the king with a loyal heart, but loves Zon with a heart that is even more so.

Personality:
Feu is a silently fiery dragon. His soul is ablaze, but his mouth is quiet. The only dragon he enjoys speaking to is Zon, and is more than happy to let him do all the talking, and, boy, does Zon like to talk!
His pride would usually be seen as a weakness, though it is viewed as a strength by many. Lots of dragons admire his fighting spirit, and his unwillingness to back down. Whenever he takes up an idea, he holds onto it and doesn't let anyone tell him otherwise.
Feu has taken up the mantle of the army. While Zon is immeasurably useful, Feu certainly does more. He commands most of the troops and has participated in more battles than anyone else in the clan.
He is a little bit easy to annoy. Since he hasn't had many social interactions, social etiquette seems to be especially low in him. He is known for snapping at dragons for things as simple as forgetting to wear their uniform to a meeting.
Feu's greatest fear is that Zon will one day leave him. He worries that the Coatl will realize that he is better than Feu, and abandon him. He keeps his fears to himself, though, and watches Zon carefully.

History Snippet: Zon was sweating profusely, his oily black feather glimmering in the low candlelight. Guard training had been especially tough today; Feu was in no better shape. He was breathing heavily and remembered the lecture that the commander had given them about "wary killing" and the preciousness of life. At the time, Feu had blown it off. If there was an enemy in front of him, waiting to be killed, he would take the opportunity in a heartbeat, no questions asked. But now seeing Zon, his mind took a different turn. No, it wasn't right to needlessly take lives. That was wrong, the worst thing someone could do. He tried to imagine Zon ripped out of his life... and he couldn't.
"Zon..." Feu began, not even thinking. "I..."
Zon looked up, exhaustion glimmering in his eyes. Little rivulets of sweat ran across his brow, which he wiped away with the tip of his wing. "Yeah?"
"I love you!" Feu blurted out. "I mean... as... um, a broth-"
Suddenly, Zon was inches away from Feu, and his claws were in the Coatl's. "I love you, too." He whispered hoarsely and then pulled Feu in.
