P E R S O N A L I T Y
Nadean is a smart-mouthed, sarcastic dragon who has seen it all. Despite having the demeanor of someone who hasn't a clue what they're doing, Nadean is quite competent in a number of skills including mechanics, combat and military strategy. This is most likely due to his extensive past of traveling the world. When it comes to information regarding far off lands or distant settlements, Nadean always seems to know some useful tdbit of information. Despite this, he remains endlessly fascinated by literally everything. He is always ready with a witty comment and is constantly level-headed to the point of infuriating his other clan mates. Occasionally, Nadean can be a bit full of himself, but he is never outright selfish.

H I S T O R Y
No one knows where Nadean actually came from, and he isn't about to volunteer that information. He just sort of...showed up one day with his ever-present companion, Flapjack. Permanently infected with wanderlust, Nadean is known for disappearing from the clan for weeks and sometimes even months. After teaming up with Shijian and Alethia, these disappearances became even more frequent. Still, whenever the canyon needs him most, Nadean always shows up in the nick of time.

There was a time when Nadean was fully a dragon. Some of the older clan members will tell you, he had scales that sparkled like polished gemstones. Then one day he disappeared. This wasn't unusual, everyone was used to his vanishing acts by this point, so no one batted an eye as days stretched into weeks, and weeks stretched into months. People only started worrying on the third month of Nadean's disappearance, when his closest friends Shijian and Alethia started asking if anyone had seen him. Those two dragons knew the most about Nadean, and if they were worried about him then there really was something wrong. Shijian and Alethia took the Pioneer and set out to find Nadean, but soon they too did not return. Once again days stretched into weeks and weeks stretched into months. Mestra had begun sending out search parties and contacting friends all across Sorneith when the Pioneer returned. Alethia assured the clan that they had found Nadean, but no one saw him for the next week and a half. Nadean had been missing for just over a year when he finally began interacting with the rest of the clan again. He just popped up one day, his usual chipper self. But Nadean was different. His once glittering scales had been replaced with copper plating, and though parts of his old scales still shone through in places, they are simply metal replicas of Nadean's old body. Naturally Nadean refused to discuss his transformation, he's a very private dragon you see. But there are a few dragons who know bits and pieces of it. Shijian and Alethia obviously, but they'll never talk. You're best luck will be with some of the original clan members, Lilith or Kyanite perhaps.

_THE BET_

____"How'd I get the sword? Kid you know I don't do personal anecdotes. Ok, fine. Those puppydog eyes get you one story. Just don't tell anyone I told you, alright?"
____"So I was hanging around the Shifting Expanse, playing cards with the workers, shopping for new tech, doing the rounds, when I ran into this skydancer. Mouth bigger than his brains, you know the type, claimed he could strip a steelhound core in ten minutes flat. I said I could do it in five. Guy got this look in his eyes like I was a well cooked steak and asked if I was willing to bet on it. I said I was and we put down a decent amount of treasure. Soon enough we were working on our respective cores and even got a small crowd watching us. Anyways, the skydancer beat me, but I wasn't surprised, he's a lightning dragon, it's kind of the only thing they're good at. I was willing to part with my treasure then and there, but the skydancer turned to me and said; 'I could probably turn you into spare part faster,' and that kind of got to me. So I asked him if he wanted to make it interesting and threw a frost delver core on the table. In mint condition, I worked hard to get it and it would fetch a hefty price from the right buyer. The skydancer smiled with all his teeth and pulled out this sword. "

_THE BET_

____"I could tell immediately the make was Second Age. The idiot probably had no idea how valuable it was. This time around we where disassembling mistral gloves. The machinery is attuned to wind magic so I'm much more familiar with it. I was able to beat the skydancer and he looked very angry. Apparently he had embarrased himself in front of our audience. (Here's a tip kid, if you know you can win a bet, try to get the other guy to drive up the stakes by losing the first round.) I was going to leave, but the skydancer took me aside and asked to settle our affairs in a Brawler's Bet."
____"A Brawler's Bet isn't a term you hear in polite company, but basically if someone feels wronged by a bet they lost to someone else, they can challenge that dragon to a short, private brawl. If you're a gentleman (and a good fighter) you take the bet and if the other wins, they get back what they lost and you two part on good terms. If you win, you get to keep what you rightfully won and the loser slinks off to nurse his wounds. I am a gentleman, so I agreed and soundly trounced the sucker. I mean c'mon, I've traveled through space and dealt with monsters this backwater lightning farmer couldn't dream up in his wildest nightmares. Of course I won."
